Bluegrass Legends Weekend:  Doyle Lawson & Paul Williams with Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers

 

It's a once in a lifetime weekend featuring pioneers of bluegrass music Doyle Lawson and Paul Williams!  Lawson's career began with Jimmy Martin before joining J.D. Crowe & The Kentucky Mountain Boys in 1966.  He later began an eight year stint with The Country Gentlemen and eventually led his own group, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver.  Williams began his career in 1951 with The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers, then briefly joined The Stanley Brothers, before joining Jimmy Martin's band which also included a young J.D. Crowe.

On August 10th, The Lanham Brothers Jamboree takes the stage with bluegrass music, clogging performances, and interactive entertainment! Hosted by brothers Barry and Randy Lanham and recorded for broadcast on KET (Kentucky Educational Television), guests are Joe Christian, Jade Hagan, Elijah & Ansley Christian, Erica Roberts, Jeff Hardesty, and The Footstompin' Express Cloggers.

Outdoor Stage:  The Nashville Songwriter on August 15th

 

Presented by ATA CPAs & Advisors and Hayden Construction, this edition of The Nashville Songwriter features Don Sampson, Jim "Moose" Brown, and Wynn Varble!  The Nashville Songwriter takes place August 15th in the outdoor stage area on our north lawn. This series focuses on both hit makers and those searching for their first hit. Each event features several Nashville-based songwriters offering the backstory on their work and sharing personal experiences that shape their songs. 

Seating will not be provided, so bring your own chair or blanket.  Tickets are $15 each for general admission.  No coolers are allowed, and bar and concessions will available during the concert in the outdoor stage area.

What’s more authentic than learning at the Hall of Fame? Our lesson program is designed to make bluegrass music more accessible to all who are interested in learning to play an instrument.  All classes are 45 minutes long.  Our beginning age for classes is 9 years old for fiddle, guitar, and mandolin, and 12 years old for banjo.
